I purchased this clamp-on probe to Fluke 617727 Clamp-on utilisation with a Wireless Shack Exemplar 22-812 multi-function digital multimeter and the combo is superb. The plug, a ganged two-prong (positive and negative) shrouded banana plug duo, has a spacing of exactly 3/4 inch, which Fluke and many other manufacturers use, like my RS MM. Thus, I can utilisation it on the RS, Flukes, and others. One caveat is that the output is 1 mV per Ampere; hence, one must employment a MM having a sensitivity of at least 1 mV, which is no problem for the RS 22-812 and the amend lines of nigh MMs. So, eve tho the plug may matched your, for example, Wavetek Meterman Model AC40A, a compact and simpleton combo AC current/Voltage/resistance-measuring digital MM (yes, I have one; it’s peachy for normal Residential, Commercial, and Industrial forge when you’re measurement Voltages LT 600 V)(AC and DC Voltages read, just NOT DC current, which is why I purchased this probe), its sensitivity is exclusively 100 mV (0.1 Volt), making it worthless for virtually current readings.
I specifically purchased this probe over some others, which are cheaper, because it’s created by Fluke. Simpleton as that. I have withal to encounter a shoddy Fluke-made product, and when you need to receive a current reading, be it AC or DC, a precise turn generated by a product that will perform reliably in a mold environment, particularly when you experience to physically clamp onto a conductor that may or may NOT experience entire insulation, for years to arrived is well worth the special dollars.

Merely a comment about the Eagle Talon comment. In lodge to utilization a product successfully one must understand the basics. I get employed this product through a protagonist and conceive it is worthy. I was a Jeep/Eagle technician for many years. Eve though it says Eagle on your vehicle it is really a Mitsubishi Eclipse. That is why the connector doesn’t work. At the dealership we received a entirely freestanding set of diagnostic tools but to service these types of cars (there were others). Too OBD1 & 2 is not necessarily intended to tap into other computer systems on your machine like ABS, etc if they are not linked. We besides received different connectors and equipment for different systems. This is one awesome equipment I was able to save big on this scanner; this is a tools that pays for itself. I was able to troubleshoot two of my co-workers vehicle without charging them, one was a BMW & the other one was a Lincoln town’s motorcar the succeeding time everyone got to salary the piper. It definitely pinpoints the literal fault code. I received it for almost 6 month; I merely got to exercise it. I evening felt the trouble with my 1988 Buick OBD I It’s an amazing product. It has totally the attachments for OBD II & I, which enables one to induce the business done without, having those dealers & shop ripping you off. If you did take it to the shop after scanning your vehicle, you may definitely intimidate those dealership by representing your fault to them. Being that they know what your talk Actron CP9150 Code Scanner about, they will not tend to build markups suggestion to you, if you know what I mean.

Fluke’s 287 “TrendView” is not a scope-meter feature. I listing this equally a con to warn that Fluke’s product page appears deceptive. The 287 can record up to 10,000 data details with a programmed start-stop and interval time. The interval is no faster than 1-second. However, one could too plan a threshold foreboded an ‘event’ as a percent variation from the original ’start’ values and does instantly record. Read Fluke’s on-line manual to make sure this lineament is what you want. You may motivation to pay eve more for “FlukeView” forms software to see the entire record and for the PC interface cable; another reason why “TrendView” is in my ‘con’ list.I can’t countenance this go. If your Fluke meter fails, be machinated to throw it perish because getting it repaired often costs equally8 much equally9 buying a young unit. That’s occurred to me, twice, and developing problems with my 867B are causing cryptic depression. Fluke will not evaluate an issue without sending the meter in with a credit card. This is why I kept away replacing my Fluke 87 for over three years when it failed. Beware … there is NO headroom if you exceed input ratings. It is Selfsame slowly to permit the smoke away of a Fluke. Anyone who needs a capable meter good to 100-Khz True RMS and accurate wide-band audio measurements will similar this meter equally the every daytime capable tool. It’s expensive and it costs special to accept entire advantage of Fluke 287 Multimeter TrendView via FlukeView Forms and additional cost PC cables. Zero is free with Fluke, including an optional case. But … it’s a darn good meter.

The 179 true-rms Multimeter has the features required to notice the virtually electric and HVAC problems. It’s simple to use with significant improvements over the original. This special 179 has more measuring functions, conformance to the latest safety standards and a much larger display that’s easier to view. Likewise it could withstand transient impulses in excess of 8000 V to assistant protect you from arc blasts resulting from surges and spikes. This combo kit includes the following: silicone essay leads, industrial essay probes, heavy-duty alligator clips, integrated temperature probe, and a non-contact voltage tester, completely included in a soft side Fluke FLU179/1ACII Multimeter Combo case. This kit doesn’t got with an ideal set of test leads for me. The test probes are quite little and experience cheap. I motive to purchase a pair of TP220 probes to exercise with the TL224 prove leads to construct a put of actual test probes. You might want to look at the 179/1AC Kit because it has completely the properly stuff (in my opinion) – wish I’d bought that kit. The 1AC voltage tester that comes with the 1AC kit is fairly nice. The 179 meter itself by the manner is awesome – very nice.Going through my years equally a educatee and experimenter, I received a Tuner Shack Micronta DMM where the ohmmeter eventually failed, hence I had justification to stimulate a new DMM. Having affected on in damage of disposable income since the time I was a shinning student no more than 25 years old, I figured I could afford a genuine Fluke, these being what the HVAC guys tended to use. I was impressed, to articulate the least, nearly the sort of stuff this device will do, to include such obscure functions as getting occupation frequency, ambient temperature, and eve capacitance (no more “mystery condensers” in my regions box!). I still postulated to induce alligator clips and the inductive current probe to experience complete on this, simply altogether, I’m slaked with the kit.

The Fluke 88 Series V DMM has a big digital backlit display, for slowly regarding in poorly lit environments
* The made in thermometer eliminates the motive to Fluke FLU88-5/AKIT Automotive Multimeter transport a freestanding meter for temperature measurements
* Its peak MIN MAX lineament captures intermittent events equally short equally 250 microseconds
* The DMM is protected from bumps and bounces by an integrated removable holster and a magnetic hanger holds the meter for viewing, while freeing the hands for other tasks
After a long business of OTC, Craftsman etc multimeters I experience eventually gotten a FLUKE and Damn if it isn’t the best thing since sliced bread. I don’t desire or motive another multimeter ever. This thing has lots of features simply thats not exclusively what sets it apart. I will give you an example, lets contain a tps lets use my OTC multimeter($345 to $400) and the fluke for comparison. they both get bar graph displays Only the OTC updates 12 times a moment Nice! just the Fluke updates 40 times per second, NO CONTEST. Hence it has wholly the features of every other multimeter I receive always owned and then some but it too has these features improved over other brands. Simply spend the money and cause a Fluke and you won’t motive anything else.

“This is a nice DMM. One of the best I’ve used. Measures all the usual electric elements as substantially as temperature. The auto-ranging feature is fantastic.
Things that are sub equivalence in my ruling include the manual and the pc interface. The manual is terse, just contains some useful information. The pc interface is a serial connection which my spot 1972 laptop doesnt have. Thence I will get to cause a serial to USB converter and hope the software works correctly with this. Also, the software appears to exist dated in 2003, thence it could potentially be away dated, Sinometer MAS345 Digital Multimeter simply I havent been able to examine it as of yet. Either way, it could usage an update geared toward newer systems.
All in all, I cant complain. The backlight works well, the DMM does what I motivation it to, and could potentially exist PC useful. Is is by far the best multimeter I get used. It has a realize display and an slow to usage interface. What is actually nice virtually it is it doesn’t feel cheap. A true piece of fine craftsmanship. Another good thing nigh this production is its marvellous overload protection, therefore you never get to vexation almost blowing a immix or something unbalanced similar that. Highly recommand for any electrical engineers or hobbiest who desire to have something cool to prove their friends.”

The Equus Automotive Digital Multimeter is designed to troubleshoot a variety of automotive and household electric problems. It includes prove lead holders for hands-free testing. This digital multimeter is safe, accurate, and slow to use.The Innova 3340 mulitmeter seems and feels alike a quality instrument. About of the functions mold neat just I Equus 3340 Multimeter bought it mainly for the tachometer and dwell slant features. I sought those on two cars and got erratic and erroneous meetings with each. I sent the detail back to Innova and they claimed they couldn’t detect a problem, sending it back to me after a few weeks. Again I assayed the tach and dwell on a ‘69 VW. The tach read over 4,000 rpm with the locomotive at idle and the dwell was a fixed 90 degrees. This production did not satisfy me and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone needing those functions. It’s a nifty product with many uses. Prove anything from batteries to antifreeze potency with this meter.

“My foremost impression of a Mastech meter is a bad one.
The Good: It has a circumstances of features, the LCR functions were a selling point. Not the most accurate, just good decent for the hobbyist. The Sinometer MS8222H Digital Multimeter leads it arrived with are nice, and come with covers for both the probes and plugs. The light is a nice green color. The meter May be calibrated, merely The Bad actually outweighs any reason to ship it in for calibration…
The Bad: Doesn’t experience as “”solid”" as it should. The rubber coating is really a share of the meter, it’s not removable similar near others. Removable coverings absorb shock a circumstances4 improve than when it is a part of the literal plastic. Also, there is a circumstances8 of ‘ghost’ readings; foreign voltages randomly establish up and away away, and prove up again. At first, it’s at middling acceptable levels, only later, it but gets worse and worse equally it is used. The on-off toggling of the LCR functions are too confusing; for some things, it has to be off, for some on, it’s really hard to tell if the LCR functions are on or off, you’re actually just2 altering the meter’s doings overall.
The weird ghost voltages got so bad, I sent it back. My advice (for what it’s worth): If you motive these kinds of functions, and you are a hobbyist, you are plausibly at the degree to where you should croak with something of a higher quality anyways (Fluke, Agilent), hence there’s really no reason to decease with this no-man’s-land* meter. ”

If there was a “Master Electrician” I was it. Middling braggy, just I ran mold for 15, owned my own store for five until I suffered myself and quit, did both commercial and Industrial forge and troubleshooting driving service truck. Solid wedlock guy for wholly of you IBEW brothers out there, “Hoorah!”.If you are a serious electrician, and doing any form of diagnostic form you need a multimeter and the best created are the Flukes. You motivation one of those compose jobbies for flying diagnosis, just0 you will find yourself needing this meter plus a pair of clamp on jaws, or perchance the cheaper model eventually equally your skill grows and you movement up in the trade. Also useful, Selfsame useful really, is the guide and shoot thermometer. This is invaluable in detecting a loose connection and potential next meltdown. Don’t exist a cheap bugger when it comes to tools; purchase the Fluke, the Klein nut drivers, the fuzzy “Klein” screwdrivers, and a nice open ending wrench set. Craftsman has this “wonderful” guarantee. Fabulous, but if a screwdriver breaks it’s going through your damn hand! Get a warranty on that? Surmise what else? Most of these other makers have lifetime warranties too.I like the other reviewers experience owned many multimeters just receive finally settled on fluke. I utilised fluke equipment in electronics school and directly shape Fluke 117 Electricians in industry that demands using equipment in inclement weather. The fluke has kept up groovy and the car detection of DC and AC has simplified the forge when switching between different circuits. I experience besides utilised this meter on weekends when working on old cars and it has worked smashing for troubleshooting and rewiring vintage metal.
